My Students

I teach in a K-5 elementary building. My classroom is made up of over 20 hardworking, respectful, and sweet students. Typically most students who enroll in kindergarten spend their entire elementary career within our school. We are a school that prides itself on PBIS implementation and the home-school relationship. My school has also recently implemented AVID, which places emphasis on college and career readiness.

All of these support systems allow students to feel welcome, valued, and more willing to learn.

We are raising lifelong learners at my school!

My Project

The resources and supplies I have requested will allow our classroom to be more organized, making students more successful. My students use AVID binders daily, creating a toolbox of resources throughout the year. Within the binders, students have subject folders, a daily planner, and a pencil pouch filled with miscellaneous needed supplies. The binders go back and forth between home and school, as students use the resources for homework and studying. The carts will be used to organize student books that align with our curriculum. By better organizing these books, my students will be able to self select books at their independent reading levels, leading to more engagement with these nonfiction reading and writing topics.

By donating to our project, my students will learn how to organize their belongings, making them more successful in the classroom.

When organized, students can simply focus on the task at hand and not have to spend time trying to locate their resources. Our classroom will run much more effectively with these organizational materials.
