Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 80% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. Our school is also ethnically diverse. Students speak a multitude of languages including English, Spanish, Hindi, Bengali, and Arabic. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are also diverse in their academics. Our grade level currently supports 30 plus students on individualized education plans, in which we must differentiate to meet the needs of all students.
My Project
Throughout the day, I see 5 different homerooms of students. To help organize the students, I like to color coordinate their materials by homeroom. This allows students to access their materials easier, and keep their math materials in one location. I like to reference past problems, and keep reference materials for students to re-use throughout the year.
Having a binder that has multiple sections the tabs requested will allow the students to keep everything that they have been given throughout the year in one place so that they can easily access materials and help them be on their way to a successful year!
