Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our bilingual classroom is full of very creative and hard-working students who are curious about the world and are self-motivated learners!
At our school and in our classroom our goal is to develop mindful leaders who take action both now and in the future to positively impact their communities and the world beyond.
Using a foundation of academic knowledge and global-mindedness each student will create a life of possibility and contribute to a more peaceful and just society. My kids are passionate and creative, they love to curl up with a book and be transported into different worlds, from that of Pete the Cat to the Pyrenees Mountains. We will ignite a movement to create a better world. We will transform our educational systems by being an incubator of innovation.
My Project
Every Wednesday is "STEMday" in our classroom where we do an engaging STEM project in connection to our Reader's Workshop. For example, we read "Chickens Aren't The Only Ones" and learn about how other animals in the world lay eggs. Our STEM project challenged us to build a nest to support plastic eggs using just pipe cleaners! Having STEM journals would allow us to document the STEM process and keep all of our planning and ideas in one organized space! The organizational pouches will allow for materials to be stored properly and not get ruined. The jumbo colored craft sticks will be utilized for name sticks as well as many other projects we do in class.
Donations to this project will help to improve organize our STEM time and allow us to keep growing tomorrow's engineers, scientists, mathematicians, and more!
