My kindergarten students are extremely eager to learn. Each of my students come from a different walk of life, but they all come into my classroom and we truly become a family.
Many of my students come from low-income families or from families whose native language is not English.
Despite having hurdles in their lives even at the age of 5 and 6, they bring their all to school and strive to reach their goals. It is amazing to watch their little minds work and grow throughout the year.
My Project
These poly plastic envelopes will help ensure that student stations stay nice and organized. This will allow for students to find their appropriate envelope by having all stations leveled by color. I have students on all different kinds of levels, but they have the same kind of stations. Students will be able to share stations but use different envelope colors to complete their stations. With this system, they will be able to file away their station, choose what is appropriate for themselves, and give them the independent feeling of accomplishing an entire station by themselves.
I am hoping this project will instill self-motivation, organization, and independence within my students.
This is a skill they need as they make their way to 1st grade.
