My Students

I have 20 sweet, bright, energetic, eager, and loving first graders. My students have wide range of abilities. I have 6 girls and 14 boys. My six to seven year old students are full of energy and need to get up and move. They love to sing, dance, and groove their way around the classroom (and the hallway) watching many educational songs and videos! Our school is in a low-income, high needs area. Many of our students need extra attention and love throughout the school day.

My Project

I am asking for 15 Tiny Octopus Student Chair Pouches to help teach my students' organizational skills, responsibility and respect for materials.

This chair pocket will make a difference in my student's learning as each student's materials will now be at their desk instead of in book bins across the room.

These pouches will cut down on distractions and transition time to increase learning time and focus.

This is my first year using flexible seating and the book bins were my first strategy for organizing student materials. This was not an awful strategy but has created a struggled for transition times and responsibility for organizing materials within the bucket.
