My students start school not knowing what to expect! They are nervous and eager to enter a classroom and see all of the exciting and fun activities that we are going to do over the school year. Every day, we sing a song and perform calming exercises to get us ready for the day.
They are dealing with major issues that are still shocking to me as an adult, and are often plagued with hunger and situations that are beyond their ages.
97% of my students receive free or reduced rate lunch and eat in the cafeteria every day. Many of my students have working parents who try their best for their child; however, meeting all of their educational needs can be a financial burden.
These materials will help provide a organized classroom for little developing minds. School can be very scary for an incoming Kindergartener. These materials will help them to feel at home with their own seat sack and a privacy divider to help them feel at ease during testing.
Imagine coming into a brand new environment with a new adult that you have to listen to!
I imagine myself in my students' shoes all the time and will do what I can to have their first school experience be a comfortable one. Having a seat of their own with their name on it, pencils, crayons and their own book is a welcoming sight for a 5 year old! These seat sacks will help me to provide that comforting environment.
Within the first few months, my students are expected to take a very daunting test and they can become confused and nervous. The partitions will help to ease their anxiety and fear that they aren’t answering correctly.
