Mr. White from Chicago IL is requesting reading nooks, desks & storage through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students a way to organize their classroom supplies, as we deviate from desktop storage to open tables and flexible seating.

The diverse, inquisitive and energetic sixth grade students that I teach, are an insatiable community of readers. Their collective passion for literature and their demand for knowledge, demonstrates the basic premise of my classroom culture: to grow and pursue wisdom. In my classroom, students are encouraged and empowered to take ownership of their learning, especially in their first year of middle school.
I sincerely believe that all students should have access to an optimal learning environments, where they are, both socially and emotionally, humanized.
My obligation as a teacher is to inspire young readers to become lifelong-learners and pursue the art of critical thinking through the literary disciplines. The physical space my students are learning in, should perpetually motivate and support the aforementioned endeavor. My ideal classroom promotes: student autonomy, collaborative learning; a community centralizing readership and technology.
I want to maximize my students' capacities for success as a emerging readers, through organization. These storage bins will enable my students to situate their supplies and books in designated spaces within my classroom. They will also grow as responsible and independent scholars: treating their reading materials and completed work with excellent care.
Organizational intelligence is a unique aspect of my students' social and emotional development.
Such an emphasis on this skill set: directly addresses their need for autonomy while navigating their first year of middle school. I am certain that this particular product will better orient my students towards the overall structure of my classroom climate and culture.
