This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
With the return to school for the Spring Semester, students are excited and ready to expand their learning. In order to have productive and engaging lessons, we must first understand how to keep our room organized and tidy. One way my students remain engaged is with the use of equity sticks, ensuring every student has a fair chance to be selected. To keep the engagement, I would like to introduce a digital version of equity sticks using an Echo Dot with Alexa.
My students become so excited anticipating who's name or number, will be selected from the equity sticks, so having a digital version available will allow them to use their auditory sense to listen for who will be selected.
Keeping our room clean and fresh smelling with a soft, soothing scent is also something my students really enjoy. As part of our classroom expectations, keeping their materials organized will also earn them the opportunity to practice their typing skills using mechanical keyboards, since typing is heavy in our grade level.
