This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are ages 4-5. The majority of them are English Language Learners who have never attended full-time school before. They live in homes with non-English speaking parents or caretakers.
My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. For most of my students, our classroom is their only opportunity to experience teamwork and become successful learners.
My Project
In our small kindergarten classroom, my students do not have cubbies. The seat sacks that I am requesting will allow my students to have a definite place for their independent reading books and supplies. A place they can call their "own".
Organization is key to a successful classroom.
The seat sacks will help my students stay organized! No more wasting precious time looking for their supplies. The seat sacks will be used daily to keep their dry-erase boards as well as their independent reading books. All of my students will enjoy and benefit from having a seat sack of their own!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
