Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In our 12th-grade economics classroom, my students are exploring financial literacy, economic systems, and decision-making that will shape their futures. These driven and curious young adults bring resilience and determination to everything they do, balancing part-time jobs, family responsibilities, and school. Despite these challenges, they show up eager to connect economics to the real world and prepare for life after graduation.
Not only does my class discuss how the United States economy works, but we also incorporate lessons about personal finance to prepare them as they venture into their adult lives, but my students need the tools to help them organize and prioritize our content-packed class.
To help them stay organized and engaged in our content-packed class, they need the right tools. Binders, colored printer paper, lined paper, and binder dividers will transform how my students learn:
- Binders will give each student a personal portfolio to organize notes, handouts, and activities, helping them build a solid foundation in economics. They can use these portfolios beyond the classroom and in the classroom to engage with concepts in their everyday lives.
- Colored Printer Paper will create visually engaging charts, infographics, and activities that make complex concepts more accessible.
- Binder Dividers will teach students to categorize materials, fostering organizational skills that mirror the structure of our course.
These resources will not only support their understanding of economics and personal finance but also equip them with essential organizational skills for college, careers, and beyond. My goal is for every student to leave with a tangible system for managing information effectively—a skill they’ll carry into every aspect of their lives. With your support, my incredible students will have the tools they need to thrive.
