This is what I am requesting for my students.
The first set of material are binders for students to keep their work in.
These binders would be for students to keep current assignments in as well as returned work. The plan is to help teach students organization and to learn to keep their assignments for one class together in one folder. Often students end up putting all of their papers in their backpacks and these papers are never seen again. Having folders will help teach students how to organize.
In SFUSD, sixth grade is the first grade of middle school. Students come to middle school and need to learn how to go to different classes for their subjects and to learn how to deal with four to six different teachers (depending on their classes). Organization is something that all students need.
The second set of material that I am requesting is bins. This is to help keep class material organized and the bins are smaller, which enables them to fit into cabinets.
