Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

By organizing our classroom library using bookshelves, bins, and baskets, I'm ensuring that books are displayed and stored in a way that is easily accessible to students. When books are within reach and clearly visible, students are more likely to browse and select reading materials that interest them, thereby promoting independent reading habits.

I want to create an inviting and engaging reading environment that fosters a love for reading amongst all of my students.

This will promote independent reading habits and encouraging students to explore a variety of genres and topics.

Allowing students the opportunity to read and care for books will build a sense of community around reading, where students feel empowered to share their thoughts, recommendations, and achievements with their peers.
