My school is a Title I school located in a rural area of East Hawaii (Pahoa), and my students with socioeconomically diverse backgrounds thrive on resource classes including visual art class. As I am a newly hired art teacher at the school, I am still setting up and improving my classroom environment for all students. My classroom has no storage room and few shelves, closets, and drying racks.
Students receive about 30-40 minutes of art lessons once a week and it can be challenging to navigate them to make art, submit artwork, and clean up before the next class of students arrive at the art classroom!
I am planning to assign a small drying rack to each table so that students can submit artwork without lining up for the drying rack and waiting a while. By doing this I can have students submit artwork that is more accessible and easy to navigate for students. Help me transform my classroom into a more organized place that is easier for students to use!
