My students need chair pockets and primary lined notebooks to help support early organizational skills. With 30 children in a room materials can get misplaced very easily causing frustrated and upset children. Help us stay organized!
My students at school 81 are some of the most eager to learn children I have ever had the privilege of teaching. 100% of the students here at school 81 receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite many challenges, the students at school 81 continue to maintain a school in good standing.
There are thirty students in my class.
Their current reading and math levels range from well below grade level to two grades above! This can be a challenge in the classroom to meet all the needs, but it gets done! Most of the day is spent working with students in small groups to differentiate the material. Growth in reading and math is already showing!
My Project
The materials will help my students become better organized. Chair back organizers help all students find their materials but even more so students with learning disabilities. When children can't find their materials they become frustrated and upset. Often times they shut down and are focused on the missing item, not the content of what is going on in the classroom.
Benjamin Franklin said, "For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned."
I truly believe if we support children by helping them with organizational skills at a young age, they will take pride in their work and have the energy to more effort into what is really important.
The daily notebooks help establish routine in the classroom which supports a structured and organized environment. When students have the materials to begin their day, the possibilities are endless!
Primary lined notebooks are especially important for proper letter formation. When a child does not form letters correctly they are exhausting themselves and fatigue when asked to write at length.
Simple things like proper notebooks and chair back organizers save time and energy that is better spent on learning new material.
