My Project

Each year I teach I find ways to improve the overall organzation and functionality of our classroom. Each of the items on this list will allow me to provide ways to keep the students accountable for their school supplies and also the materials in the classroom.

The over the door shoe organizer will be used for storing headphones when not in use.

Right now, the headphones are stored in a tub and are often broken and tangled due to no better way to store them. The stickers and mini erasers will be used as small rewards during the week when students are seen being responsible for their materials. The take home folders will be used as a daily communication log for parents. Students will be given a sticker or eraser when they return the folders every Friday and have parents signatures showing they have seen them.

I am excited to have a easier to use pencil sharpener in the classroom that students can actually use. This pencil sharpener automatically starts and stops so that students can just insert the pencil and wait for it to be done.

Responsibility is a huge lesson I try and teach my first graders every year. These items will help them become more responsible and accountable for their materials as well as mine.
