My Students
Our students are fantastic! They come from a variety of backgrounds which makes the classroom a very diverse environment. The school is in an urban setting where we have many ELL students. There are over 700 preK-6th grade students at our school. Many of them do not have access to healthy meals, so the school runs a food pantry for students to take food home over the weekend.
These students want to do well, but many lack the tools needed in order to succeed.
My Project
As I look around my classroom toward the end of this school year, I realize it needs some serious reorganizing! Half of the bins in my library are broken and I need stickers to organize the books by genre.
Over the years I have taught several different grade levels and accumulated a lot of junk. It is time to reorganize everything so that it works best for my 6th graders. I need new book bins with stickers, and bins to hold different kinds of paper.
I want a gong to use to gain their attention after independent work time. We also need sentence strips so I can write sentences that go along with the book that we are reading in class. We really need to get organized!
