My Students

My little first graders amaze me every day! They are so inquisitive and eager to learn. These little people come ready to love and be loved, make new friends, and share their treat from their lunchbox. I have 28 students in a traditional homeroom class setting, but they break apart into smaller ability level groups throughout the day. These kids are used to lots of movement!

Keeping 1st graders engaged is an exciting and challenging task.

Their minds are so quick and sharp. They soak up information as fast as I can give it to them. We have so much fun together in the classroom and love to discover and learn together.

My Project

Due to Covid, our classroom has new items to store such as large amounts of hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. We also use bins to keep each student's belongings together in one place, such as headphones, computer mouse, lunch, and water bottle. All of these new items do not have a home and clutter the classroom.

Students need a clean, peaceful atmosphere to learn to the best of their ability.

Supplies and student's belongings now cover every surface of space with no room to display plants they are growing for science, 3-dimensional art projects, book report character cans, or social studies dioramas.

These storage cabinets would enable the supplies to be stored away, thus freeing up counter space for activities conducive to learning.
