Moving back and forth from in-person teaching to online teaching has its own set of challenges. A laptop would enable me to have all of my lesson plans, PowerPoints, and resources in one place. It would go home with me each day so that if that call comes that the school is closed, I am ready the following morning to seamlessly pick up where I left off in teaching my students. When we are in school, I would use a laptop in the classroom to record videos of me teaching on a daily basis to help the full-time online students feel connected to their teacher and their school. Making daily videos for my students is so much fun! If, and when, we transfer to online learning, I like to make an engaging video each morning to welcome my students to the day and encourage them to complete assignments. I have been able to do this on my phone, but a laptop would enable me to combine a video with a PowerPoint to create a more effective and engaging lesson. I am amazed at what these kiddos are capable of when given the opportunity to succeed. They want to do their best!
