My Students
Do you remember that first book that made you fall in love with reading? The story that allowed you to escape into another world for a moment, the biography that gave you new goals and dreams, or the recount of information so riveting that you just could not wait to learn more? My students are thoughtful, imaginative readers and learners, and are excited to read books of all genres inside and outside of our classroom walls.
Students at my school come from diverse backgrounds and cultures and have a wide variety of reading levels, interests, and educational needs.
My ELA classroom will serve as an essential resource for children who need access to different genres and styles of writing to help them grow as students and young citizens of our global community.
My Project
The materials and supplies on my list are essential to helping students have a successful learning atmosphere, and necessary for me to engage and fulfill their needs! The shelving units listed on this supplies list will allow students to store their book boxes filled with their own writing pieces, notes, and books of interest. "Book boxes" are the center of independent student learning; with these organizers, students can safely store their independent and guided reading books with the rest of their literature and English Language Arts materials, and effectively learn in my classroom.
