This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students are in a time of transition...you know that time...somewhere between elementary and middle school...that's exactly where my students are..trying hard to meet the demands of academia.
My students are some of the best students ever!
They are at one of the crucial points in their lives where there minds are still able to be molded and shaped in the most positive ways to achieve the most optimal positive results in and out of school. Our school is a Title I school which in today's age really doesn't mean that our school is any different than many others. Our students share the same struggles and accomplishments as their peers in other schools. The only difference is the number of challenges that my students are forced to deal with on a daily basis.
With the addition of the Swingline Electric 3-Hole Punch, our students will be able to organize their academic lives in every facet. Our students' classes are departmentalized, meaning that they see a different teacher for each subject and that doesn't include our special area teachers. By our classes being departmentalized, our students must be able to maintain some sense of organization, a way to maintain the materials that they receive from each teacher. I am stepping in to help them achieve this goal as a hole punch will allow students to punch materials so that they can be placed inside of their binders making organization a breeze.
This project will make a difference to not only myself but to our students because we know that a student who is organized, ready and prepared for the day, is the student who is making great academic gains, preparing themselves for the future.
