This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from an economically disadvantaged district. Even with the struggles they have at home, they attend school on a very regular basis. The majority of my students come from single parent homes. They have very little supplies when they come to school. The students in my classroom receive small group instruction to better accommodate their needs. I teach reading, mathematics and language arts. Some of my students have me for all three subjects; some only have me for one or two. Every student is special!
My Project
My students need to work on organizational skills! We need binders, paper clips and a heavy duty stapler to help us on our way. My students require 3" binders for organization! 90% of my students asked me for a binder this year. I haven't been able to keep up with them. I've seen the binders help even the most unorganized student stay organized.
We need the stapler and paper clips for larger projects throughout the school year.
These items are essential to help my students keep all of their materials in the same place. We have a very disorganized bunch!
