Organize for Reading

My Students

My class of 2nd graders have come so far in their education careers. Their kindergarten year was cut short right at the time learning begins to click, and their first grade year was either all online or a hybrid of learning. They are such hard workers and can't be stopped.

The students in my class are devouring information and soaking in all the learning they can.

It has been a joy to watch them learn and grow in the few months we have been in school. Unfortunately schools have gone virtual once again in an effort to lower COVID-19 numbers. I am hopeful that we can push through and only close for 1 week.

My Project

The resources requested will help my students minimize the chaos around them by organizing their work into mailboxes, work with the teacher on charts, and then, create an environment where they can learn to read. During the covid-19 pandemic, students have been thrown into chaos without the resources to learn to read and love to read. My hope is to give our classroom a safe and organized environment, one that is minimized by the world around us where we can come together and love reading. The books I have chosen are classic chapter books, books that spark their interest, and books that help them learn and love the diversity around them.
