Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach AVID, which is a college-readiness program for, primarily, first generation college students. One of the key parts of our curriculum is organization. One big part of my job is helping students explore organizational methods so they can find out what works best for them. In order to do that, we need access to different supplies to experiment with.
This project will enable my students to have access to decorated, personalized in-classroom binders to house their completed work so they can reflect on it and review it at the end of the year AND homework folders so they can get more practice at taking important things, like homework and permission slips home and making sure they come back to school as well.
Additionally, the project will help me color-code students' work and organizational supplies (folders, turn-in trays, binder dividers, etc.) in the classroom so they can more easily locate what they need and take more ownership over their time in my class.
I work with a lot of students for whom accessing extra school supplies beyond the basics can be a challenge, and I know that providing them with both both the physical tools and the cognitive tools for organization will help them greatly. Any support you can offer would be much appreciated!
