My Project
For students, being organized is particularly important since it helps them learn how to prioritize activities, set and achieve goals, and reduce stress. Having good organizational skills also makes it easier to collaborate with others and helps increase productivity and efficiency.
I have chosen to require students to maintain a 3-ring binder where they will organize their class materials and notes, leading to class success and preparation for college.
I will teach them to take notes to prepare for college and the world of work. Since we no longer use lockers in our school, the binders will be stored in my classroom so students will have easy access to them.
My students are amazing, but they are not developing the skills needed to prepare for exams. When I talk with friends who teach at nearby universities, they tell me this is typical of incoming freshmen. It is a weakness we should be able to strengthen by teaching them old-fashioned
