Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember how much time was wasted in class because certain students were not organized. When students are organized, there is more time in class to learn.
My school is a low income high school in an urban city.
My school is an arts school that focuses on music, drama, art, vocal and instrumental. My students are great kids who come to class ready to learn each day. They are excited to learn about biology, but sometimes the lack of class materials can inhibit learning.
My Project
These resources will allow our students to become more organized. Students will be able to build a life skill that can be carried throughout high school, as well as after high school. Many students often lack organizational skills and these materials will allow students to practice becoming organized and increase ownership of their learning. For instance, many of my students cannot afford binders for class. The binders that are being requested will help students organized his or her work in the classroom. The colored paper will help students organize the sections of his or her binder.
This project is so important because it will not only allow students to have more time to learn in class, but it will allow students to build an important life skill.
These materials will make a huge impact in the classroom.
