My Students
Every morning, my students come in with an eagerness to push themselves to be the best they can be. By the end of this school year, I hope that all my students will have the love of learning and dedication for academic excellence. By getting this project funded, I believe I can meet that goal.
My students always use their best effort and really want to succeed within the classroom as well as in life.
Our school has a very diverse population and has a positive attitude towards learning. We strive to create a safe environment for every child. Every morning, students recite our school's daily affirmation saying "I am respectful. I am responsible. I am safe. I use my best effort and today I will succeed." I feel very lucky to be part of a school that puts so much care towards their students and who believes that every single one of them will succeed.
My Project
We all know that having an organized area lends itself to a focused mindset. Messy areas and looking for materials leads to distraction and wasted time. My students love to learn. They are always asking to read, but sometimes the books are not easily accessible. We would like to have 2 bookcases, so students are able to access reading books easily and enjoy the journey that books can take us on.
My students also love our flexible seating.
Currently, we are rotating our flexible seating options, but we would like to add more stools and a table. This will help our students focus and learn in their best environment. This will also help as we go through our Daily 5 and Math Center Rotations.
Some of our flexible seating, like our lap desks and floor seats, need a home, so the plastic storage bins will help students be able to have easy access to them and also give them opportunities to be responsible by putting the flexible seating back in their "spot."
