In first grade, students learn how to be independent life-long learners. To assist with their journey, my class will need several resources. They will need the book bins to store their Good Fit books during Read to Self time. The pocket charts and pocket chart stand will help them stay organized as they go through their Daily 5 rotations. The bean bags and comfy floor seats will promote flexible seating for optimum learning throughout the day. The headphones will help students access the classroom iPads as they strengthen their individual reading and math skills. My class will gain a better understanding of number sense and fact fluency, which are fundamental building blocks in math. They will have more hands on opportunities through the 100s pocket chart and the Hot Dot activity cards. The Hot Dots math activity cards will allow students to practice their math fact fluency by providing immediate feedback. The Hot Dots science activity cards will provide students an opportunity to learn about our first grade science standards in a fun interactive way. These resources will help my students become life long learners as they improve their reading, math, and science skills through independent, interactive, and collaborative opportunities.
