This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I have found that students in my class do not have the financial resources to purchase school supplies. Having the essentials will allow them to get and stay organized. I've been stressing the importance of being organized so that students can access all of the material that they need quickly and efficiently. However, when your students are worried about food, shelter, etc. it's hard to get upset when they don't have a binder.

The items that I choose will help set up my students for success, and they will be able to use them for a couple of years.

It breaks my heart when they don't have the basic necessities, and I can only purchase so many items with my own money. It's only through DonorsChoose that I'm able to ensure that my students have the tools that they need to put their education in the forefront of their thinking.
