This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are some of the most amazingly strong and determined kids I have ever met. They are from a diverse low-income area and they have had to fight for what they have. Each of them have a variety of different disabilities, but that doesn’t stop them from taking charge and overcoming challenges to learn in my classroom. My students have learned that they are not disabled, they just learn differently. Each of my students has a desire to move to the next level in their learning and to do that, to keep their items organized and easy to access. Organization makes effective learners

My Project

Our school is an AVID school and all students are required to have 3", 3-ring binders, including my amazing students with disabilities. Although the school provided binders an pocket dividers at the beginning of the year, some of them are already falling apart. My students are doing a great job with organization, but their binders are not keeping up with them.

These new 3" binders and colorful pocket dividers will provide our low-income students with the ultimate organization in mind.

They will be able to keep up with their typical peers by having all their papers neat and organized and easy to access.
