This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Organization and Responsibility are traits that are carried throughout life! Having a neat and organized room with allow for minimal distractions and more time for learning!
My students are a mixture of special education and general education students (an ICT class).
They are 6th grade students who stay in the same room for all core subjects (Math, ELA, Social Studies, and Science). With all of these notebooks and textbooks, it can be difficult to fit them all neatly in or under ones desk! My students are looking for role models, and by keeping a neat and organized classroom, my co-teacher and I are instilling these lifelong habits within our students. These traits are essential for living as well as future careers. A neat classroom is a happy classroom!
My Project
My students will be able to use the "seat sacks" to organize their textbooks/notebooks. Instead of having books on the floor or having to stuff all of them in their backpacks, they can neatly place them behind their seat. The books will stay intact for many years to come, and the students will learn a sense of organization and responsibility.
The supply caddies will allow my students to access and engage in all lessons that may require them to cut, glue, color, or tape items into their notebook, etc. Having group caddies will assist in organization and responsibility of a table leader, and ensure that all students have the necessary supplies to complete a task.
These donations will improve my classroom by making it more efficient, organized, and safe.
Having books and supplies put away neatly will introduce my students to becoming organized. Assigning students to be table leaders on a rotation basis to collect and upkeep the caddies will teach responsibility for the future. The smallest thing can make a huge difference!
