My Students

I teach a group of about 24 second-graders that come from very diverse backgrounds. In fact, the district has over 25 spoken languages! We are a Title One school in which the majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch. Our school is part of the New Tech Network with a focus on project-based learning. We are second in the nation to adopt PBL in Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms. My students learn through appropriate, challenging, authentic projects as they explore, adapt and engage in the world around them.

My students have the ability to thrive at school with the appropriate classroom environment.

They crave structure and stability as they are full of energy and eager to learn. My overall goal for them is to become successful, independent, confident learners!

My Project

My classroom is in need of a few things to help us stay organized! We need chair pocket covers for the student chairs! My classroom is housed in a modular unit, and is therefore quite cozy to say the least. Students have various folders, books, and materials that need an assigned spot while we're learning. Our school day is fast paced and full of learning, so every bit of routine and organization helps the students grow and succeed.

An organized space is an organized mind!
