Organization Is Key

My Project

In our Kindergarten classroom, students engage in Math Workshop and Literacy Workshop stations on a daily basis. During this time students work in small groups of three to four students as they move about the classroom playing and completing a variety of games, tasks and skill-based activities.

This school year I have a larger number of students and a greater range in academic abilities, requiring more center materials to be made and easily accessible to my students.

With a higher amount of materials comes the need for a better organizational system to best support students' learning and to aid in making planning more time efficient.

This project will provide our classroom with both large and small mesh zipper pouches, which will be used to store all the necessary tools and learning materials for workshop stations. In addition, this project will also provide our classroom with Avery printable labels and waterproof seal labels to attach to the pouches. Such labels will indicate what subject or concept the activity is for, as well as the targeted skill. These storage materials will make our Math Workshop and Literacy Workshop stations easier to manage and organize, and will help to eliminate the clutter and chaos that often becomes of our workshop model resources.
