My Students

Organization is a key component to learning. My students need help keeping their supplies organized and at their fingertips to maximize the learning in our classroom.

I am the lucky teacher of 30 energetic and ready to learn 4th graders.

I teach in a Title 1 school where many of our students receive free or reduced lunches. Due to budget cuts last year, our district made the tough decision to close an elementary school, move students around, and go to a 4 day work week. With the longer school days we need to be able to maximize the time we have learning and growing.

My Project

My students will be able to use these chair pockets to keep their materials neat and tidy. With the increase in class sizes, I have moved my students into tables, with 6 at a table. While this has been a great way to promote collaboration, it also leaves students with no space of their own to store their stuff. The chair pockets will help them keep the supplies that they need readily available to them. I know my students would be very appreciative of this addition to our classroom.

This project will make a big impact on my students as it will give them a place to store their personal belongings.

It will also help reduce the time taken out of our day to retrieve materials from other parts of the classroom, which results in less instructional time. I believe that organization is a key to success and this is one key that we need.
