My students need to be organized and stay on track with our standards mastery. We need a stapler, hole punch, and bright paper to save paper, keep our papers organized and classroom items that will better help with our organization skills.
I have several students that use our school and my classroom as their safe place. Coming from a negative home life or experiencing negative things have given my students motivation to make something of themselves and become different than some in their families.
My students are eager; they want to learn and they want to make a difference.
We are a Title I school with most of our students receiving free or reduced breakfast and lunch. We live in a low income area and families have a rough time helping their students with school supplies or things needed in class.
My Project
Most of my students have 2 math classes. I am the second math teacher who teachers remediation. I encourage my students to stay on track with their mastery of standards--which will help with the incentive chart-- as well as making sure they are keeping up with their papers and assignments for my class and their other math class. I have asked for supplies that will help my students stay organized--stapler, hole punch, bright paper for important assignments, saving paper with teacher made worksheets that are only have the page (paper cutter/guillotine).
The items I asked for will help with their organization skills and hopefully will help with their grades.
If they know where to find their notes and assignments, they will be resourceful and grow independence. This will give my classroom more resources that will help my students achieve.
