My Students

My 10th grade English class is comprised of regular and inclusion students in a high poverty district and cannot afford the "extras" that help make learning a little bit easier and more appealing. The students have a variety of learning styles and need those little extras to help accommodate their individual learning abilities and styles. They are all hard workers and truly appreciate any help they receive. The little extras are what can make the difference between success and failure with my students. When given the motivation, they strive to understand and continue to try instead of giving up. They are also more willing to ask for help when different learning styles are addressed.

My Project

My students need a little help in organizing and prioritizing things that need to get done in their lives. Student planners for each of my students would enable me to help them learn how to navigate real life situations where they must meet deadlines and learn how best to prioritize what must be done in order to meet those deadlines.

Sometimes it is the simplest of things that get overlooked and can mean a lot later on.

A student planner would enable my students to write down all their responsibilities and have a tangible resource to look and and interact with daily. It also teaches great life skills of organizing, managing their time, and prioritizing.
