My Project

I work with an amazing group of students! They are an incredibly diverse group, with 50% being English language learners. They are entering the classroom with a wealth of knowledge and unique experiences. This group is full of kind, thoughtful, curious, and highly motivated scholars who are eager to learn more about themselves and the world around them.

This project is designed to help us organize our classroom to maximize student learning.

The goal will be to offer students the opportunity to be independent learners, able to find and use the supplies necessary to complete various tasks. The things on this list will help us set up systems for them to be successful!

The items range from tools students will use individually, providing them opportunities to develop their own organization skills, to those they will use as a group, allowing them to work together as a community to keep our room a calm and in order.

For example, bins will help us get our manipulatives organized to ensure students can easily (and independently) select the tools they need to be successful. Larger bins will help us store our materials, which will allow students to take care of our classroom supplies and find what they need.

Clipboards with storage will allow students to store unfinished work safely in their desks, while still having something to write on at the carpet.

Through establishing systems of organization in our classroom that can be utilized for and by students, they can both see and practice the skill and have a comfortable and predictable environment in which to learn.
