Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a second-grade class: 1 teacher, 20 truly diverse and intelligent students. My students come from low-income homes but they are full of enthusiasm for learning and growing! This school is a Title I school located in Florida where 93.5% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunches. My school is also a dual-language school that has a high range of English learners. Imagine a classroom having all of the tools necessary to be able to learn the language and grasp what is being taught in the classroom and knowing that your help is what accomplished this! Despite many hardships that the students encounter, whether it is a language barrier or an academic hiccup, they are eager to learn new material and try their best in all of the work that they do!
The goal for my school and the second-grade team is to prepare the students for success throughout their academic transitions.
This classroom needs some tools to help accomplish this goal and vision. Thank you for all of your support and help!
My Project
In our classroom we need an organized way to have our library set up. It is important for students to be able to pick books based on instruction levels, genres, or personal preferences. It can become difficult to maintain order and organization if the books are not in bins or put together accordingly.
Having these storage bins and cabinets will allow students to maintain order in their classroom library!
