My students come to school ready to learn. Having different and engaging materials in the class encourages them to explore. I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students attend a small, urban elementary school in a mid-sized city.
The majority of kids in the school are eligible for free or reduced priced meals and typically do not have access to a great deal of technology. Aside from the lack of resources, my students have a great enthusiasm for learning.
My Project
Have you ever heard the saying "A place for everything and everything in its place?" It can be hard to stay organized when you are just a little kid, but an organizing system can really make a difference! The dry erase protectors enable students to slip in a paper and use a dry erase marker to record their findings. The headphones are great to use at the listening center and to use with their iPads.
With more than 80% of students eligible for free or reduced-priced meals, many have not had the literacy experiences that many middle and upper class children take for granted.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
