I work in a low-income area in Harvey, Illinois. I teach kindergarten students who are primarily Hispanic and African American. I am blessed to work in a wonderful community of families. No matter the family challenges, such as having multiple jobs to provide and care for their families, parents are quick to assist and guide their children to achieve their highest potential. As a teacher, I strive to always create a warm and inviting classroom environment to elicit students' achievement.
We just received a Spacemaker Storage Unit to organize our literacy and math materials along with some colorful and durable bins. Now, we need some bin lids to complete our storage unit! The kindergarteners also would love a new sentence building game for literacy centers and some pretend fruit and vegetables for our dramatic play centers. Lastly, we would enjoy some bin organizers for Whiteboard activities and small bins for our Daily Word Sorts. One thing I have learned from teaching kindergarten after 14 years is that students love ORGANIZATION so these materials would be much appreciated for the kids!
