This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My 5th graders are full of life and eager to learn! They come to school each day with a can-do attitude and are determined to not only be the best 5th grade class in Missouri, but the best 5th grade class in the nation!

My students face challenges head on and never back down.

Growing up in the inner city has presented my students with challenges. They have had to face and overcome obstacles most of America's population may never encounter. They are resilient and hardworking. They persevere with grit and a gracious attitude. They exemplify every part of our school's motto, "Work hard. Be nice." and inspire me to the absolute best teacher I can be!

My Project

Help me give my students what they need to succeed! With your donation we will be able to give my students some tools for organization, readings for practicing their on grade level comprehension, and a few games for fun and peer collaboration!

Staying organized and having fun while doing it are 2 keys to success!

Help me provide this opportunity for my students.

My students will be using the sticky tab dividers to help organize their student notebooks. In these notebooks is where we keep track of their daily reading, confusing vocab words, and thinking steps for all of our challenging 5th grade topics! We will then be putting these notes to practice with the help of the various comprehension reading texts. Finally, to top it all off, my students will be able to practice their communication and peer collaboration skills while playing with the 2 games!
