Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a Title I school located in Texas. Eighty four percent of our students are below the poverty level. This area was recently devastated by the floods of Hurricane Harvey. I see so many personalities in one day and I absolutely love it. They keep me young and inspire me to push them to love learning. The first thing they ask when they walk in the classroom is, "What are we learning today?" and I always say, "We're taking a trip around the world." They love it! I want them to see learning as a tool, but also as something that can be fun!

My Project

My students are always asking me, "How much time do we have left?" In order for anyone to be successful, they need to have a visible clock and reminders to help them stay focused. This will allow them to see the time and help them to stay focused on their activity.

Color, color, color!

My kids love to add colorful pictures to anything and everything. This allows their projects to pop and keeps them interested in their product. The ink will allow them to print anything they need to make their projects come alive.

When moving around the room and working in groups the students struggle to find places to write. The clipboards will allow them to move around the room from group to group and allow them to collaborate freely with their peers.
