This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In third grade at our school, we serve a variety of children who come from a variety of different backgrounds. I want to make the classroom time as enjoyable and enriching as I possibly can to help them become successful people in the future. My students deserve the best our education can offer them. I don't want them to be held back because of their situation or the financial needs of the district and state.
My Project
This is my first year moving to third grade and not having English Language Learners which means I will have more students than I have had in the past. Because of the larger class size, I will need more chair organizers and new mailboxes.
Chair organizers and mailboxes provide organization and consistency in a classroom which helps make students feel more comfortable and able to focus more on the learning.
They don't have to worry about where their materials are or where their papers go. They don't waste time trying to find something or asking where it goes. When students know the procedures and the teacher has the materials to create that organization in the classroom, students learn better.
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
