My Project

We are a rural school with the ability to place raised beds to grow our own produce for snack time. We also have a tortoise in our classroom who eats a lot!

We want to reduce out of pocket expense for snacks provided by families and the teacher.

By setting up raised beds next to our classroom we can grow our own snacks and ensure we are getting the best nutrients possible.

Students will be able to map out where the raised beds will be placed in our side lawn. Students will then help fill them with soil and pick their vegetables to plant. These raised beds will allow us to grow winter crops, too. The markers will allow students to mark their special part of the garden and what they are personally growing.

We are learning about the plant cycle, ants, butterflies, and tortoises. This is the perfect time to put our lessons in action. We are currently starting plants from seeds in the classroom and will need a place to plant them soon.

Please help us get our healthy snacks in place and cut the cost of pre packaged snacks on families and the teacher, too. Thank you for your consideration of this project. We are super excited!!
