My Students

I get to work with an amazing group of little musicians every day in Brooklyn, NY. These kids are always hungry to learn more, and love to play their instruments every chance that they get!

Our school is a multicultural hotbed for creativity and shared learning.

The music classroom is especially collaborative, with students working together to create the compositions that they, in turn, learn to play on their instruments.

Our wish is to have all students in our school community leaving the music room as successful composers and performers.

My Project

My energetic and creative elementary students need more instruments in which to compose and perform! The requested xylophones will give my students an opportunity to extend their musical knowledge and play in a more varied ensemble format.

I work with some amazing children who blow my mind every day with their creativity and capacity for learning.

I wish to expand their musical knowledge base by providing them with as many musical outlets as possible. Adding the requested Orff instruments to our current classroom instruments will greatly expand their music literacy and performance abilities. The use of xylophones and other pitched percussion instruments allow children to improvise and quickly express musical ideas. In addition, it allows students to perform quickly and accurately with the ability to remove pitches that are not necessary for a specific song.

Your donation will go a long way to help over 300 upper elementary students in their musical discoveries and promote a greater appreciation of music in New York City!
