My students are simply the best. They are excited about school and eager to learn, create, and perform. We are a diverse school with a population of over 400 Kansas City students. Our students love to play, sing, create, and perform.
Though our families come from differing backgrounds, our staff is committed to the like-minded goal of educating our students for a successful future.
Music is one way to reach our students by providing opportunities for them to be expressive. Right now, we are building a music program at our school to help kids pursue their musical goals.
Our brand new middle school is in need of instruments! With a set of classroom music instruments, our students will be allowed individual time learning and practicing techniques that can be transferred to other musical experiences later in life. These instruments reinforce note reading, rhythm reading, balance, musicality, and all the "finesse" required of ensemble music.
Our classroom needs a set of Orff instruments because the more opportunities for students to experience success and enjoy being in a music group, the more likely they will continue to love music as an adult and use it to enrich their lives.
I hope we can provide instruments to keep students singing and playing in Music class as much as possible to discover many ways to be creative and expressive in school. Ensembles are a fantastic way to find your "niche" in a group and feel a part of something beautiful.
