it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This school year our 5th graders will get an opportunity to bring to life the Oregon Trail by way of Sourdough that has been in revived since 1847.
We will start with requesting SourDough Starter that is from the Oregon Trail Sourdough foundation.
Students will get to learn about the struggles and strives of the 1800s and use sourdough starter that is being reserved since 1847 to learn about breadmaking (using 2024 technology) to meet the processes of 1847. Students will have a chance to learn about the history and culture surrounding Sourdough and how it was used during some of the most trying times in American history.
Our students will get to see how science, math, culture, and history all collide in this awesome activity that will stimulate the 5 senses!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
