Help me give my students the chance to study and experience the wonders of what 3D printing can do. The 3D printer filament will allow my students to print designs that they create.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are energetic, creative, hands on learners. My goal is to help them discover who they really are by providing them with opportunities that they would not normally be able to experience. I am a Digital Literacy and Technology teacher in an impoverished area of Philadelphia. Our tech lab allows these remarkable students to access a world that they do not have much experience with. Students are studying multiple forms of technology: • Digital Citizenship, Interpersonal and Societal Impact • Internet Safety • Ethics and Laws • Word Processing, Presentation, Drawing, Spreadsheets • Collaboration and Communication • Research • Website Evaluation • Search Strategies • Organizing Information • Citation Attribution • Coding • Intro to Computer Science • Computational Thinking and Algorithms.
My students are hard workers and brilliant thinkers that are ready to further their understanding in the world of technology.
I am so proud of the way they strive to comprehend the skills necessary to successfully implement digital literacy and technology in their everyday lives.
My Project
3D filament will allow my students to bring their creations to life. They will get the opportunity to design, code, and create their own visions. With 3D image creation, students will get the opportunity to watch the printer create what they've imagined.
3D printing will allow my students to unlock a potential they never thought they had.
3D printing creates inventors. Instead of buying products, students can now create their own. They experience art at a new level. It is engaging to those that would otherwise not participate in their learning. 3D printing can help change the world. Students will learn empathy, teamwork, and problem solving as they work to create solutions to real-world problems.
