My Project
In this interactive project, our classroom will transform into a dynamic restaurant environment where students take on the roles of chefs, waitstaff, and managers. As they navigate this simulation, they will apply essential math concepts like money, fractions, and decimals. The hands-on experience will also foster valuable life skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork.

The resources I'm requesting—real-life menus, cash registers, and kitchen supplies—will play a crucial role in bringing this project to life. These tools will enable my students to engage in real-world math applications, enhancing their understanding of fractions, decimals, and money management. By using actual restaurant props, students will see how math is not just about abstract numbers but a critical part of everyday decisions. They'll learn how to calculate prices and manage a budget, all while working collaboratively to run the restaurant smoothly.
I am incredibly proud of my students, who bring a wealth of energy, creativity, and diverse perspectives to the classroom. They are eager to learn and thrive when given opportunities for hands-on, interactive learning. Each student brings unique strengths, and I love watching them grow as individuals while developing their problem-solving and collaboration skills. This project will provide them with a meaningful, real-world context for math that will make the concepts more accessible and exciting. By connecting learning to an experience like running a restaurant, I hope to inspire my students to see math as both a useful and fun part of their daily lives. This project is designed to not only improve their mathematical understanding but also encourage teamwork, responsibility, and a sense of achievement. Together, we’ll make math an adventure that’s as engaging and fulfilling as the dinner rush!
