Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have orchestra classes, and all the instruments are very old. Most of the instruments are more than 20 years old and have never had the strings and bows replaced. The average replacement of a bow for rehair and strings is one year or less. Good supportive instruments give huge motivation to the new learners, which are middle schoolers.
The string instrument projects sound with strings and bows.
The strings and the hair of the bows get older; it won't make a sound anymore. Students had difficulty making sounds without continuously replacing the new strings and reharing the bow.
I don't have the skills to repair the bow myself, and we definitely need new strings and a new bow for the next few years. Young players especially love their instruments, but the sounds are not making or working properly.
Please help us for Title I school students to keep their dreams and dreams come true for them.
