This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! Even though we live in a city full of violence and money problems, these kids come ready to learn! They take trains, cars, and feet traveling all over the city to get to school, which is so amazing! These kids have more skills than most adults I know! They can map out and maneuver a city that can be crazy at times with ease. I am so excited to be their ambassador! Fighting for them to have the materials they deserve!

My Project

Getting students to read books regularly has been a mission for me for many years! I have learned that not all students like the same books. This is obvious, but my library still doesn't accommodate this. Because of this, I have put together a list of some different books that I like and some that were recommended by some of my students that I have now! I want to a have library that provides good and interesting options for every single student that passes through my class! This is a way to start this journey and I am excited to get more and more students reading!
